lapsang souchong leaf tea

type: black

ingredients: black tea

caffeine: strong

price level: $$$$

Taylors of Harrogate's traditional Lapsang Souchong has been smoked over a wood fire giving it a smoky flavor. The tea is dark in color and can be served with or without milk. It is also delicious iced and can be served throughout the day. A particularly refreshing drink on a hot afternoon.

Not a fan. If you aren’t aware of it, this kind of tea is very smoky. Moreso than most. I believe it’s more of an acquired taste.

Good smokey flavor. I hate lapsang souchong teas that a light on the flavor of smoke. That's what you get it for! Warm rich tea taste underneath it. Good quality.

Nice and smoky and full of flavor. You really need to watch the steeping or it will get too bitter

I've had a number of Lapsang souchong teas over the years. The best I ever had was by Mariage Freres... but that's considerably more expensive. Frankly, for the price, the Taylors of Harrogate is a winner. Just be careful not to overbrew it.

I've grown to like Lapsang Souchong thanks to adagio fandom blends. So trying this was purely out of taste. Which in the end i liked.

Very intense black tea. I like to add some milk and honey to it. Very good.

A fine lapsang, a little on the acidic/bitter side for my tastes but goes lovely in many blends, especially those spiced/citrus.
