This tea has one of those flavors which isn't good, isn't bad, but is distinct. Whether you wind up loving it or not I'd say you'll generally wind up finding it palatable. The Siberian ginseng in it is great for quieting the mind. As an example of what that means: you know those nights where you lie awake because your brain has decided that now is a good time to try and remember all the shows/movies that one actor was in, or to make a ranked list of the weirdest trees you've seen... This literally quiets the mind so you don't pop back awake from the 90% out mark thinking 'but that half dead maple tree in my neighbors yard when I was a kid, weird or just creepy?'. I love that it lets me sleep with no 'hangover' like OTC sleep aids, and recommend it for any other ADD/ADHD adults who have trouble sleeping.

In 2002 I was drinking this tea while in nursing school. At that time kava kava was an ingredient. I was taking Benadryl as a sleep aide for insomnia related to shift work. I would cry for at least an hour after drinking that the tea with kava kava after taking Benadryl. A year later in my pharmacology class I learned Kava Kava has herbal to drug related interaction with Benadryl and other medications. It hasn't been made with Kava kava for over 10 years now.

This has become my favorite nighttime tea. The flavors are subtle with no one overwhelming taste. I don't like licorice flavor at all so wasn't sure I would like this but I don't notice that taste at all. Well blended tea. The reasonable price makes it even better!

The flavour of this tea is pleasant, and a flowery type of herbal. I was very surprised at how it actually made me relax and fall asleep. Plain chamomile tea never had that effect on me.

When I first tried this I wasn't a fan but I picked it back up when my cupboard was sparse and after a few cups it really grew on me. I've purchased several boxes since. Nice in the evenings.

I prefer black tea to most other teas, and I'm not usually a big fan of herbal blends. The first few times I made Tension Tamer, I didn't even drink it--I used it more for aromatherapy. The flavor is still not my favorite, but that's not because of the tea, it's because of my personal preferences. It really does help me to feel chill, so I drink it when I need a bit of mental relief. Add a dash of honey!

Tension tamer is an old favorite, and though I have moved on to loose leaf teas and enjoy new experiences more than older favorites, tension tamer is the best of the celestial seasonings teas. I can call up the exact flavor of it now. I think I will pick up a box next time I go to the store, in fact.
