type: black

origin: india

region: nilgiri

caffeine: strong

price level: $$$$

A good everyday black tea, the Korakundah is nice and mellow. We are pleased to note that it is certified Organic and Fair Trade. Dry Leaves: Black leaves that are about 1/2 inch long. The FOP means Flowery Orange Pekoe, referring to the larger size of the leaf. When the tea is made, it rolled between two large metal plates. Some the leaves retain the large size and some are crushed. The FOP are those leaves that retain the larger size. Liquor: A light brown liquor. Aroma: Light and subtle citrus notes. Caffeine Level: Caffeinated Body: The larger leaf makes for a mellow tea, so it tends to be towards the lighter side for a black tea. Flavors: Light notes of citrus. Brewing Time: 5 minutes Brewing Temperature: 212° F

I tried this tea and found it was not for me--I found it somewhat bitter when brewed hot.
