flight of the golden monkeys
We have been buying Golden Monkeys from Fujian Province for over 20 years. Often times the town we purchase from can vary. This year we had found 4 that we really enjoyed and thought we would share them all with you. Fuan is the town where we also source our Mutan White tea. This tea is made from those leaves and brews more floral than the others. Just south of the mountains of the Baishanzu Nature Reserve sits the town of Zhenghe. The Golden Monkey made here brews dark and sweet with aromas reminiscent to molasses. Across the mountains from Zhenghe is the town of Songxi. Songxi A has lots of golden tips and brews lighter and sweeter than its counterpart. Songxi B has larger leaves and darker, toastier notes than its counterpart. This product contains 4 individually packaged tins, (Fuan, Zhenghe, Songxi A & Songxi B) containing 2 ounces each and arrives in a black & gold Harney & Sons gift box.
