Considered by many tea drinkers to be among the most complete tea drinking experiences, Oolong presents the perfect balance between green and black teas. Working directly with the growers Tea Forté has procured this lightly-oxidized, warm and woody variety with exceptionally fragrant and floral flavor, presenting richness and intensity. After plucking, the loose leaves were grouped into bamboo baskets carefully fermented and then wilted in the sun. Frequent turning of the tea in the baskets during the drying process allowed for the Oolong to develop a floral aroma with large, wild curly leaves. Formosa is another name for the island of Taiwan. Ihla Formosa means "beautiful island" in Portuguese.
