Yunnan Gold Tip Black is a pleasant-drinking tea with large, attractive leaves and plentiful gold tips. It is perhaps the smoothest of all the Yunnan teas. Full-bodied with a rich, lingering aftertaste. This tea is grown in the southwest mountainous area of Yunnan province in China, where wild tea trees hundreds and perhaps a thousand years old are still vigorous. This area is sometimes referred to as the "birthplace of tea." Yunnan is a misty, mountainous province (the "yun" in Yunnan means "cloud"). This area borders Vietnam, Laos, and Burma and has grown tea for 1,700 years.

Sweet and musty scent with white pepper and maple syrup on the nose. The taste is sweet, lightly floral, with barely a hint of earthy maple syrup. A complex and tasty black tea whether had hot or iced.
