Yunnan Jig is a black tea from the Yunnan province of China, the birthplace of tea itself. Yunnan black tea is easily identified by its abundance of soft golden tips, and savory cocoa and black pepper flavors. It is a very forgiving tea; will not taste bitter when over-steeped. Our Yunnan Jig black tea has a sweet, almost creamy aroma. Rich and savory flavor, with a slight cocoa powder finish. Earthy and spicy and soft, smooth mouthfeel and finish. Classic Yunnan. Steep at 212°F for 3-5 minutes

Adrian HI really like this tea's malty, smooth, strong flavor and it makes for a good way to start the day. Brewed for 6 minutes with a packet of Splenda.

LDLawrence DevoreA very excellent black tea. Nice smooth chocolate notes tasted throughout the cup. Will order in the future.

WMwoodie McWhirterWhat a nice rick bold soft peppery slight cocoa flavor. That this Yunnan gives off with this remarkable tea. I love this tea with just lots of honey or powdered sweetener, but please don't use milk.....You will kill the taste.
-
Tanya G.A very smooth, malty black tea. It has hints of sweetness and a smokiness to it. It's not bitter, and you get multiple steeps with this tea.
-
John McKennaan overall stellar cup of black tea, zero bitterness, brewed at 205 for 3 minutes, worthy of a second and maybe a third steep
-
Zell MaestroA good black tea with no astringency or bitterness. It's a nice golden color. I don't really taste any of the cocoa notes mentioned or really anything other than basic black tea, but it's smooth and comforting.
-
Elise EasterlingVery malty and not bitter at all. I can taste more of the cocoa when I add a little milk and sugar. Will reorder this one for sure!
-
Lauren S.First time I tried this years ago it was so fruity I thought I'd accidentally ordered a flavored tea. While it's not quite that berrylike anymore, it's still a solid black tea that I really enjoy.

Irishman McWhirterI love this malty-soft peppery strong bold Yunnan black tea. I drink this every time I have a Chance in the morning. I enjoy my black tea with 2 tsp of loose tea steeped for 3 minutes at a temperature of 212 with sweetener.

Julie WMalty and flavorful! This is one of my favorite teas from Adagio. Great aroma and flavor! Very enjoyable cup of tea!
-
Janet RossThis is a delicious malty black tea that tastes great with some raw honey or rock sugar to bring out the flavors. It can be steeped again.
-
Cindi Drinks TeaThis was so tasty! A mellow, earthy black tea with a hint of sweetness. I can see why people rave over this one; it is really delicious.

Michelle McGillI love teas from the Yunnan provence and this is no exception. Smooth, fresh and sublime. Buy and enjoy!

shesallthatOne of my favorite breakfast teas. Hardly no astringency and goes down smooth.
-
Kaitlyn ElvinIt was love at first sip for me with this tea. It's delicious hot or cold, sweetened or not sweetened, with milk or plain - just all around super good. The description and reviews saying it has a naturally faint chocolatey taste are dead on. I've tried and loved a lot of teas from Adagio, but this is the first one I felt compelled to buy an entire pound of.

KBKinich BarreroA lovely black tea with no astringency, could easily be an "every morning" tea. A bold flavor without being overwhelming.
-
Beth HaysStrong, smooth black tea. I enjoy it very much. Also a nice base to add other flavors
-
Rachel EmmelBeautiful black and gold Tea. A lovely, smooth flavor. A bit malty, with just a tad of astringency. I managed 4 steeps out of one serving! Steeped (1) 200F 4min, (2-4) 5min

CGCameron GlassI have absolutely no idea how I managed to do this but it somehow tasted a little astringent. It was super earthy and deep in flavor and quite enjoyable.
-
Rebekah StricklandThis is a strong, earthy black tea. I prefer this one with a bit of sugar but no milk. Good on its own or with food.
-
Red WolfeIncredible! The flavor is bold and strong, but there's almost no astringency! There's a strong taste of dark chocolate.
-
Kimberly HnatkoI brewed this one at 212 for a long time and it actually didn't get bitter! It's deep and rich, full of flavor and just a bit earthy. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and will be buying a bigger bag!

Shannon WebbBrew #1: 212F for 3 minutes with rock sugar added To me, this tea is a bit on the stronger side and is suited more for a morning pick-me-up rather than an afternoon sipper. I'm not picking up many bitter notes from this tea. There is some astringency present but not enough to turn me off from it. Brew #2: 212F for 4 minutes with rock sugar added I liked this tea enough to try a second steeping; the first round did pack enough flavor that I thought it might be worth a shot. It was fairly decent a second around.

ECEmily CargileI can't think of any reason this tea doesn't deserve five stars! It's a wonderful solid black tea. I do usually prefer flavored blacks, but this tea is very good, very tasty. It honestly reminds me of basic orange pekoe - my tastes are apparently not refined enough to pick up on the "black pepper" and other flavors. I really enjoyed this, and my kids did too! A major win!

Tracy JonesA very smooth, slightly malty black tea. It has a hint of sweetness and a pleasant astringency at the finish. Double points for no bitterness, even with a slightly longer steep.
-
Dorothy SummeyMmmm....smooth black tea that goes down easily. I added a bit of rock sugar. Sweet but bold and good for multiple steeps.
-
Tea TigressIn dried form Yunnan Jig smells like sun baked earth accompanied by a sweet white pepper scent. The taste is sweet and earthy with a touch of malty cocoa. Equally good hot or iced. I found myself craving more of this tea soon after finishing the sample bag.
-
Michael MFantastic black tea, bold with not too much astringency. Holds up well to several infusions.
-
Joy GowanThis cane to me as a “freebie” with another order. I love black teas and I tend to be kind of picky.... but I liked this and I will order more!
-
Ca UAmazing tea. This is totally my cup of tea. It has a hint of chocolate/cocoa. Very good!!!!
-
AmandaThis is a fantastic smooth and rich black tea, no bitterness whatsoever. It's perfection with a splash of cream, and maybe a little sugar when I want to be indulgent. It's a really good complement to sweet pastries or dessert as well.
-
Jason RankinLoved this brew, was a nice sample to get. Lighter in color for most of my black teas, but tasted great. Was a nice cup in the afternoon. Wonderful flavor.
-
MJMichael JacobsonNot bad! A super mild black tea that has less of the boldness some people dislike so much in, say, breakfast teas. A pretty middle-of-the-aisle tea.
-
KELLY DENMANThis is my favorite Adagio tea and I drink it every morning. It is smooth even if I over brew it! The flavor is complex and oddly comforting. I enjoy many other Adagio flavors but this will always be my go-to.
-
Maria BurnsVery, very good. Mineral, with hints of cocoa. The black pepper comes through just at the end. This tea is amazing.
-
Timothy KellerMy absolute favorite black tea from adagio. I just ordered more. I have a thermos sitting at my desk at work full of the pot I brewed this morning. It's a great strong cup, cocoa flavor, but soft and only lightly astringent.
